Sommeliers Australia has been given a unique opportunity to get an intimate understanding of the wines of the Mornington Peninsula. This full day affair will see you visit the region for a day of education and an early evening of relaxing and socializing with other sommeliers.
The Plan You will be delivered by bus to Moorooduc Estate, where Rick and Kate McIntyre will host a Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay Benchmarking exercise discussing the influence of elevation, temperature and location of the region. Following, you'll indulge in lunch from the legendary wood fired oven.
Next, there will be a visit to Kooyong & Port Phillip Estates where Sandro Mosele will give a tour of the regions newest and most advanced wine making facilities. Then on to a tour of Main Ridge with Nat White before heading to Ten Minutes by Tractor. There you will experience an in depth sub-regional exploration of the 2009 & 2010 Pinot Noir vintages, as well as an international benchmarking exercise.
Post tasting an early winter dinner will be served at Manton's Creek, where more wines will be served before getting back on the bus delivering you back to Melbourne by 9.30pm.
All this for the price of $30!
Please note, this event is strictly for members and practicing sommeliers
