Join panelist David Clarke, recently returned from a trip to Cape Wine 2012 in Cape Town and the Nederburg Auction in Paarl, for a look into the Wines Of South Africa.
All wines were sent over by WOSA (Wines of South Africa), a government council responsible for the promotion of the export of South African wine. Most of these wines have not been seen in Australia before.
The wines were chosen by David (who is moving to South Africa in 2013) and Neil Grant, President of SASA (South African Sommeliers Association) with a deliberate bias towards smaller-production, terroir-driven styles.
Over the 18 wines, covering 12 WO's, we will discuss the past, current and possible future of South African wine.
There will be a mirrored tasting in Sydney. As far as we are aware, these will be the most comprehensive Trade tastings of South African wines ever held in Australia.
